Welcome to Arizona's Original Pupusas Festival!

What is a pupusa?

A Pupusa is a handmade corn tortilla, stuffed inside with your choice of meat, cheese and beans. It is the national food from El Salvador, so popular that the 2nd Sunday of every November has been declared by the Salvadoran government as the National Day of the Pupusa. But you do not have to get your passport to try these goodies. Simply attend this event.  Approximately 8 pupusa princess will sell all types of pupusas, offered at $2-$3 a pupusas (depending on what type of meat filling you want inside of your pupusa). The event will include live bands, lawn games, desserts, local vendor marketplace, kid's zone, and more. There will be a bar area, as well as soda, water, typical aguas frescas (think Horchata, tamarindo, Ensalada de Fruta (Fruit Salad made with passion fruit)!  The event will also feature folklore dancing from El Salvador performed by the local folk dance group: Danza Folklorica Cuzcatleca

All tickets are General Admission, and all food/drink items cost extra once inside. You can purchase tickets each valued at $1, and use those to purchase your food and drinks from your vendors. The event is being produced by family members of a locally owned Salvadoreño Restaurant to benefit the Fresh Pair of Kicks Campaign, whose mission is to make a difference by providing educational programs to “Build a Stronger Future for Arizona’s Children”.  The mission of the Arizona Pupusas Festival is to become a signature community event which not only showcases the delicious food from El Salvador, its culture, while at the same time impacting the local community via their partnership with Fresh Pair of Kicks Campaign. ”
